Ship body has to suffer wind and tide attack and stress alternation,. Shipshape is quite complicated for its process method, therefore the requirement for ship body structure steels is very high. First excellent tenacity is the key requirement. Besides, high intension, anti-erosion ability, welding ability, face quality and molding ability are also needed. In order to guarantee quality and enough tenacity, the requirement for the amount of manganese and carbon is restricted.
